As Chief Digital Officer at the Health Standards Organization (HSO), Amy leads multiple teams including software engineering, enterprise digital platforms, IT services (including cybersecurity), and infrastructure. Her portfolio includes driving digital transformation of the stakeholder experience from employees, partners and quality assessors, to health service providers and patients around the world.
Amy has designed and built HSO’s first digital product: OnboardQi, a collaborative SaaS solution for continuous quality improvement in healthcare, accelerated and launched in beta in July 2020 in a new freemium model to support the response to COVID-19. This innovative, new platform will go on to begin supporting healthcare quality programs in more than 15,000 sites around the world in 2021. Amy is the Executive Product Owner and leads an agile hybrid team composed of a product owner, UX experts, testers BAs, product operations, chief solutions architect, and a combined on-shore and off-short development team. The product has been through alpha, beta and is now set to begin onboarding clients to new assessments and healthcare standards in 2021 within the platform.
Prior to joining HSO, Amy worked with Fortune 500 companies in insurance, manufacturing, education, energy, engineering, and healthcare to map exciting business opportunities to powerful digital strategy and solutions. Amy and her teams of consultants helped to shape high-impact digital experiences for more than a million users spread across Australia, Canada, Chile, China, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, UK and US.
An in-demand speaker, she has spoken on a variety of topics including digital transformation, digital strategy, innovation, and user experience, at conferences in Canada and internationally. In 2020, Amy was the keynote speaker at the Gartner Healthcare Summit in Canada. Amy was the keynote speaker at the Chief Digital Officer Summit 2018 in Tokyo, and a distinguished international panelist at the D20 CDO Summit in association with the 2019 G20 summit, in Fukuoka, Japan. Amy has a background in venture capital and entrepreneurship, a degree in electrical engineering and UX certification from the Nielsen Norman Group. One of her own startups was cited in top 10 startups to watch. Amy also has over 15 years combined board experience, and in 2015, she won a Forty Under 40 Award in her hometown of Ottawa, Canada. In 2019, she received an award for Top 100 Healthcare Leaders, an international recognition for her innovation.
In addition to her role at HSO, Amy co-hosts a bi-weekly show on Blockchain Radio that is heard in more than 100 countries, called The Weekly Standup with Rich and Amy. She sits on the board of Kemptville District Hospital in Ontario, and on the advisory board of Systems and Computer Engineering at Carleton University. In June 2021, Amy will begin filming as a cast member of season 2 of new docuseries The Social Movement, to air on Amazon Prime, Google Play, Roku, Apple TV and other networks. Watch Extended Trailer
